Temps in New York City this week are set to hover near the 70s, and it’s still pretty warm in lots of spots around the country, which means that there’s still time to enjoy my favorite grown-folks-slushy…a frozen Negroni. Now I know many of you love a frozen margarita or daiquiri, and those can be quite delicious. But for those who prefer their booze more on the slightly robust and bitter side, you can’t beat a classic gin-Campari-vermouth negroni. Here’s a recipe using G’Vine gin (though you can sub in your favorite brand). Rather than the usual 1:1:1 ratio of ingredients that is the classic negroni recipe, you’ll need to up the gin component to offset the dilution caused by the ice. Here are the deets:
Step 1: Assemble and combine your ingredients
4½ oz G’Vine gin
2½ oz Campari
2 ½ oz sweet red vermouth
3 cups ice
Combine gin, Campari and sweet vermouth in airtight container. Place in freezer and freeze for at least 8 hours and up to 3 days.
Step 2: When ready to serve, add chilled alcohol and ice to blender. Blend on high speed until uniform and smooth.
Step 3: Garnish with an orange slice and enjoy!
