It’s that time of year again when we fete the fiery red cocktail (equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth) beloved by mixologists, bartenders, gin slingers and cocktalians around the world. Just to catch you up, Negroni week was started in 2013 by Imbibe Magazine and Campari as a way to celebrate the drink while raising money for charities around the world. Back then about 100 venues signed on to donate proceeds from sales of classic Negronis as well as modern riffs and variations to various causes. This year the movement has expanded to more than 6,000 bars and restaurants around the world.
So how can you get your drink on for a good cause? Click here to find a participating venue near you. Order. Pay and enjoy a great drink for a good cause. (Leaving a nice tip wouldn’t go amiss, as well).
And this year you can go for extra style points with some cute Negroni-themed swag like this pin from Love & Victory, just $12 with 10 percent of sales going to City Harvest …
… or this sweet cushion (so you’ll never forget the cocktail recipe) from Happy Hive, which is giving 15 percent of sales to the WILD Foundation.
And you can follow all the fun this week by checking out #NegroniWeek on your social media feeds.
Cheers!
